Sources for History by CM Saikanth Varma AIR 18 2014

In this post you can find the list of sources that I have studied History from.
  • Culture Part
    • Karim sir’s notes (RC Reddy Study Circle)
    • Reading about architectures of different ages in Wikipedia by looking at pictures
    • GKToday material for Dances, Music and Paintings
  • Modern India
    • Karim sir’s notes (RC Reddy Study Circle)
    • Bipan Chandra (old NCERT and India’s Struggle for Independence)
      • I personally feel that India’s Struggle for Independence in an overkill. I have not read any other book to recommend, so I advice the aspirants to choose a smaller book based on other toppers’ recommendations.
    • Internet for topics that have come up in newspapers (Ex: Rani Gaidinliu)
  • Post Independence
    • Bipan Chandra – India Since Independence
    • Internet
  • World History
    • NCERTs
    • Mastering Modern World History by Norman Lowe (selectively)
    • Internet for topics like Nelson Mandela, Lee Kuan Yew etc
